Dear East Park Pool Members & Friends,

Thank you for making this one of our strongest seasons in recent memory. We’ve welcomed many new members, seen outstanding participation in our swim lessons, and enjoyed seeing the pool full of families making memories together. None of that would be possible without the continued support of our members, volunteers, lifeguards, instructors, and board members who give their time to keep East Park Pool thriving.

We’ve had a busy summer, and we’d like to thank everyone for helping make East Park Pool a welcoming place for families. We also appreciate members who take the time to share concerns to help us continue improving.

Reports of distracted guarding have been shared with the pool staff are being reminded of our policies around focus, professionalism, and the importance of remaining alert while on duty.

We’re compiling a clear set of pool rules and staff protocols, including expectations for off-duty conduct and guard rotations. We are also exploring a mid-season training session to re-emphasize water safety standards and the importance of guard presence.

We’re grateful to our team of guards for keeping the pool open in a tight labor yea, but we also recognize the importance of setting and maintaining high standards. We appreciate your partnership in this effort.

Safety Reminder: Large Floaties

We love seeing families enjoy inflatable toys, but they can make it difficult for guards to maintain clear sightlines across the pool.

As a general rule, large floaties are reserved for Fridays. However, when attendance is light, guards may allow them at other times if they determine conditions remain safe. Because conditions can change throughout the day, the lifeguards’ decision is final, and we appreciate your understanding if they’re asked to be removed.

Welcome New Board Member Rachel Josephson!

We’re excited to welcome Rachel Josephson to the East Park Pool Board as our new Lessons Chair.

Rachel has already made a tremendous impact by developing more structured lesson plans for our instructors, helping resolve registration and payment issues, and ensuring our swim lesson program provides quality instruction that helps children build real swimming skills, not just supervised pool time.

Fourth of July Pool Party

Sorry for the short notice, but we’re firing up the grill at noon! Bring your favorite side dish or dessert to share, or bring something of your own for the grill. Throughout the day we’ll have music, games, contests, and prizes.

Members may purchase additional guest passes for just $5, so invite your friends and family to join the fun!

Sign Up Now For Swim Lessons July 6-17

Our second swim lesson session is now underway! Lessons run weekdays from 9:00–11:00 AM through July 17, providing instruction for swimmers of all skill levels with a focus on building confidence, water safety, and proper swimming technique.
We’re proud of the improvements we’ve made to our lesson program this year and appreciate the hard work of our instructors and Lessons Chair in creating a fun, consistent, and high-quality experience for every student.

If you haven’t picked up your membership ID card yet, our guard room staff can print one for you or email a digital copy.
