26.08 Lost Almost Triathlon – Three Weeks Out

We’re just three weeks away from the Lost Almost Triathlon on September 13, 2026!

Please help us spread the word to register online at eastparkpool.org/triathlon. We just noticed this morning that the signup links were broken so let people know it’s fixed. This triathlon is meant to be for everyone, not just seriousathletes, so please share with your friends, family, coworkers, clubs, and anyone else who might be interested in racing, volunteering, or sponsoring. Also don’t forget to invite your friends outside Los Alamos. This is one of the most scenic and accessible triathlon courses in New Mexico, and East Park Pool could really use all the support it can get to open next summer.

Volunteers Needed

We especially need volunteers with EMT, medical, first-aid, or other similar training. If you know somebody with relevant experience and would be willing to help with race-day medical coverage, please have them register as a volunteer or contact us at info@eastparkpool.org. We also need volunteers for course marshaling, timing, check-in, transition areas, and aid stations.

Packet Pickup

Race packets will be available at East Park Pool on Saturday, September 12, or at Los Alamos Cooperative Market on Sunday morning before the race. We encourage Saturday pickup to make things easier on race day, though.

Race-Day Parking

We recommend parking at the Los Alamos Cooperative Market next to the race start. They serve some tasty breakfast burritos and other items so we also recommend fueling up with our community grocer.

Course Information

The courses are out-and-back on Canyon Rim Trail so please stay to the right and watch for oncoming traffic. To spread folks out, we’ll stagger start times based on experience and preference indicated in registration. It’s pretty exposed, which means the view is great, but also there’s not much shade, so sun protection is recommended. The transition area is at East Park Pool. You should drop off gear there before heading to the start.

We’ll send an email with further details one week before race day. We’ll also have an online Q&A session to answer any lingering questions, but feel free to email us sooner if you have questions now.
