We’re open 9-11 today. We’re monitoring the weather, but it’s just drizzly right now.
We’ll be open 6-8a and 4-6p during the week.
Still looking for volunteers who want to get CPR certified and help be coach attendants. Email volunteer@eastparkpool.org with your availability in the next two weeks for the in-person training. Takes a couple hours and we want to do it as a group.
The October utility bill was 3,899.10. That bill alone requires us to have 13 adult/26 youth swimmers per day. The chemical bill requires another 7.5 adult/15 youth swimmers per day. Then we have insurance and other bills.
In October, we saw an average of 9.8 adult/9 youth swimmers per day. Some people contribute more to keep us treading water, but just barely.
We are also struggling to keep coach attendants. We have a trainer willing to do a group training. We just need willing and able volunteers.
We are open for lap swim 6-8a and 4-6p weekdays. We are still looking for coach attendants for this weekend.
There is a heater on deck now thanks to Heath.

Our normal weekend coach has a meet out of town this weekend. We are looking for a volunteer from 9-11a Saturday & Sunday, or if you’re only available for other hours, we can change the schedule. If you are willing and able, please email us at info@eastparkpool.org.
We also need more volunteers to help with weekday shifts.
Team practice was cancelled so we are open until 8PM for lap swimming tonight.

Also, some swimmers really want us to stay open so I guess we’re staying open.
Now we really need you to show up and swim and volunteer to help keep the facility clean. And if you’re not CPR/First Aid certified, go get trained! There’s a class at The Family YMCA next week.

This is our last week. Seriously this time. Water is 78.5⁰F. Air temp is 36⁰F. Come be a crazy person and swim today 9-11a, tomorrow 10:30-12:30p. 6-8a & 4-6p M-F this week.
Thanks everyone for your support this year. The best thing you can do to support us now is to become a member next year or just come swim this week. If you don’t want to swim, then make a donation.
We need to raise $150k to open next year. If we do that, we can have nice things like free guest passes, a snack bar, more swim lessons, and an actual maintenance budget.
Our board members are retiring so we need people to step up. With more volunteer organizers, we could even do things like full-day swim camps. This is your community pool and it is what you make it.
We have a holiday on Monday so we’re sleeping in. Weather looks warm through the end of this week. Next week will be cooler.
The weather is perfect for swimming right now. Too bad we can’t open because we don’t have lifeguards! Come to the Council meeting at 6:00 PM at White Rock Fire Station or join on Zoom.

Everything is going pretty well at the pool. LAHS started swimming today and weather has been great this past week. Somebody said they felt like it was California. You should come swim while it lasts!
The County will be giving a presentation to Council tomorrow on the status of the aquatic center and alternative swimming locations. We would like them to send us guards so we can expand hours and provide recreational swimming. You should submit an eComment or email to Council before noon tomorrow with any questions you would like Council to discuss.
We’ll be staying open as long as the weather allows.

We had a busy morning. Lap swimming will be available 12-1p & 4:30-6p today. Pool is 80.1⁰F. Pool vacuum is working so I’ll be vacuuming today.
The furnace tripped this morning and last night. We’re not sure why it’s tripping. It’s probably not good to just keep ignoring it, but we don’t have the time or expertise to figure it out. This is one of the reasons why we’re strongly considering shutting down on Sunday. Another reason is the board/volunteer maintenance team just wants their lives back. Wanna join the board? Fill out the member survey and show up to the meeting on Oct 14!
Maybe they can be persuaded to keep the season going. With both Walkup and Genoveva Chavez down for at least months, we really want to stay open for the local swimming community. There’s a County Council meeting this Tuesday. Maybe you can show up and make public comment at 5:30pm SHARP that emergency County support would really help.
