26.08 Morning Lap Swim Extended To 8:00 AM

If I have to wake up early anyway, y’all might as well get as much use out of the pool as you can. Weekday morning lap swim will be extended 6:00 – 8:00 AM.

There has been some interest in extending the season through September. If that’s you, please fill out this survey.

26.08 New Pool Schedule Goes Into Effect Tomorrow, Lost Almost Triathlon September 13, Wednesday Evening Public Events

With school starting tomorrow, the new weekday schedule will be 6-7a (lap swim), 4-6p (open swim), and 6-7p (lap swim). The weekend schedule will be 9-10a (lap swim), 10a-6p (open swim), and 6-7p (lap swim).

Lost Almost Triathlon Sep 13

We are hosting the Lost Almost Triathlon on September 13. This is a community friendly event so we encourage everyone to participate even if you’re not a today triathlete. We especially want to encourage adaptive athletes as the course is a paved trail. You can choose from our We have preset courses or you can build your own course, such as a family relay. However you choose to participate, volunteers will be there to support your race. We really just want to showcase the impact East Park Pool has on the community and try to stay open another year. If you know any local businesses that would like to sponsor this event or the 2027 pool season, please have them contact us at info@eastparkpool.org.

Wednesday Evening Public Events

Join us Wednesday evenings 7-9pm alternating between Splash & Dash and volleyball. These events are $5/person and open to the public.

26.07 Schedule After School Starts, Interpool Swim Meet

Greetings East Park Pool Members and Friends,

The board has received a lot of feedback about the weekend-only schedule after school starts so we’ve added weekday mornings 6-7a and afternoons 4-7p back to the schedule. This is dependent on guard availability and we will announce availability-related closures at least a day in advance through the website, mailing list, and social media.

Wednesday Evening Splash & Dash and Volleyball

We’re hosting public Splash & Dash and volleyball events on Wednesday evenings starting at 7pm through the rest of the season. These events are $5/person.

Even if you don’t want to participate in the activities, it’s a great place to hang out, listen to music, grill some dinner, and enjoy our beautiful evenings by the water.

Closing Weekend, BBQ On Saturday

Dear Members and Friends,

As summer winds down, we want to thank each and every one of you for making this season at East Park Pool such a success. The last official day to swim will be Labor Day, so come enjoy the water while you still can!

Pool Closing & Volunteer Help

Next week we’ll be closing up the pool for the year, and we could use some extra hands. If you’d like to help, please stop by, call, or email us so we can coordinate the best time for you to come. Your support makes all the difference in keeping our pool running smoothly year after year.

End-of-Season BBQ Saturday

Join us for a BBQ this Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. We’ll be serving burgers and drinks, and members are welcome to bring sides, desserts, or even something of their own to throw on the grill. It’s a great way to celebrate the season together

Join the Board!

East Park Pool is always looking for new board members with fresh ideas to help make the pool even better. If you’re interested in being part of shaping the future of our community pool, we’d love to hear from you.

Thank you again for being part of the East Park Pool family—we couldn’t do this without you. We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our members for your support this year, as well as to our guards and staff for keeping the pool safe, welcoming, and operational all summer long.

We look forward to seeing you at the BBQ, in the water this weekend, and back again next summer!

School Starts August 11 – Weekday Hours Change to 4:15–7:00 PM

Greetings East Park Pool members,

With most of our guards returning to school on Monday, August 11, weekday pool hours will shift to 4:15 PM–7:00 PM. Weekend hours remain unchanged at 9:00 AM–7:00 PM.

We want to thank you for making this season one of our most successful in recent memory. Your feedback has been invaluable in guiding improvements to our facility and service. Over the past year, we’ve invested in much-needed maintenance for our pump room, boiler, and lift station, and it has paid off with only one infrastructure-related closure this season. (Knock on wood!)

Weather continues to be our biggest challenge. While we appreciate the moisture, we know how much of a bummer it is when lightning disrupts pool time. Deciding whether to send guards home early or keep them on standby is always tricky. This year, we introduced a new policy to balance staffing needs with the ability to reopen quickly if the weather clears. We also now track closures on the calendar so you can check before you come if we’re open. You can read about it along with all our closure-related policies at https://eastparkpool.org/calendar.

We also heard concerns about party reservation confirmations. Staff have been reminded to check reservations promptly and send confirmation emails to ensure members know their bookings are secure.

Finally, we’re exploring ways to make the pool even more fun. On a recent trip to Ouray Hot Springs and Soldier’s Pool in Rochester, MN, my family had a blast on their poolside climbing walls. With our active climbing community, maybe this could be a future addition for East Park Pool? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Thank you for being part of the East Park Pool community and for your continued support!

East Park Pool Opens Tomorrow!

Welcome to the 2025 pool season! We’ve got a few quick updates:

Temporary Hours (May 26–30): Due to our amazing lifeguards finishing their last week of school, we’ll be open Monday–Friday, 4:15 PM to 8:15 PM next week only. Our regular summer schedule begins Friday, May 31. Check eastparkpool.org/calendar for more info.

Swim lessons begin June 1! Spots fill quickly so sign up today at eastparkpool.org/lessons.

Membership IDs remain the same as last year. New members will receive their ID via email this weekend or can pick it up at the pool. Every membership includes 10 guest passes to share with friends and family. Need more? Additional guest passes are available for $5 each. Check eastparkpool.org/memberships for more info.

Host your summer party at the pool! Reserve a pavilion for up to 2 hours and invite up to 30 guests. Book now at eastparkpool.org/reservations. Waivers are required for all guests so have them fill it out in advance at eastparkpool.org/waiver.

Thanks for making it a great summer at East Park Pool. See you in the water!

Last Days Of Swimming!

Just a reminder that we are open to members and their guests from 4:15 – 8:00 PM until Friday, September 6. On Saturday, September 7, we’ll be hosting a fundraiser for the LAHS Swim Team. All are welcome. It is $5/person (or $20/family) regardless of membership status. They will also be raising money with hotdog lunches. Hope to see ya there and thank you again for supporting us through another season!

Correction: Back To School Hours Start Aug 7

Many of our guards are returning to school this week so our new hours will be 4:00 – 8:00 PM on weekdays starting August 7. Weekends will be 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM. On the bright side, we’re open an hour later now! Our currently scheduled last day is Labor Day, but we are trying to work out schedules with guards to extend it.

Our swim meet this weekend was a bust, but it’s to be expected in a community with such active families. There’s an end-of-year member thank you party planned for closing weekend and an upcoming fundraiser at the pool for the Los Alamos swim team tentatively planned for mid-September so please keep an eye on the Calendar for details on those upcoming events.

And of course, thank you for supporting East Park Pool. It is always appreciated, but especially this year.
